Intermediate Knitting
This is a versatile baby blanket, great for tucking around baby in the stroller or car seat as the points don’t get in the way of the harness. It’s also good for nap time or tummy time. Choose a machine washable yarn for the least bother for the new parents!
Sizes
The pattern is written to make a 75cm inner diameter / 110cm outer diameter blanket from 8ply/DK yarn. The pattern can easily be used as a recipe for other yarn weights and blanket sizes, as once the set-up is done the blanket is made from just two easy-to-remember rows – but have plenty of yarn available as the outer rows just eat up the yarn. It is knit in the round from the centre outwards.
Materials
Yarn – Three colour version: MC (Mustard) – 4 balls, and CC1 (Cream) – 2 balls, and CC2 (Dark Grey) – 2 balls, of Adorn Silky Merino DK or Bellissimo 8ply.
One colour version – 8 balls of Adorn Silky Merino DK or Bellissimo 8ply
Needles – 4mm double-pointed needles, 4mm circular needles in 40cm, 60cm, 80cm, 100cm and 120cm lengths
Extras – one stitchmarker pin, tapestry needle
Tension
22sts to 10cm/4” in stocking stitch. If using a different weight yarn, use needles and tension which create a nice fabric.
Great pattern, super happy with the end result!
