Intermediate Knitting
Grandma’s Lace Blanket is based on an adorable vintage doll’s blanket that Kate’s Grandma made for her when she was small. It was recently re-discovered at home, so as a tribute to the Grandma who taught her to knit, Kate has written out the pattern for us all to enjoy. It starts and ends with wide moss stitch borders, and has a straightforward 6 row lace pattern in the centre. Choose a machine washable yarn with good stitch definition for best results.
Sizes
Doll (Bassinette, Cot, Throw, Single Bed) - Approx 50x50cm (60x63cm, 80x106cm, 110x160cm, 165x210cm)
Materials
Yarn – 4 (5, 12, 24, 46) balls Adorn Silky Merino DK or 4 (5, 11, 22, 42) balls Bellissimo 8ply
Needles – 4mm circular needles, 60-100cm long
Extras – yarn needle for sewing in ends
Tension
22sts and 30rows to 10cm over Stocking Stitch. Tension isn’t critical for this blanket, however looser tension will likely require more yarn and tighter tension will result in a smaller blanket.
Love the pattern, easy to knit while watching TV and not lose track of pattern
